ATTEMPTED AIRPORT KIDNAPPING CAUGHT ON TAPE STRUGGLE ENSUES

Attempted Airport Kidnapping caught on tape, struggle ensues

An attempted kidnapping by a Kansas woman at the Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport today was caught on surveillance tape. The The Atlanta Journal-Constitution first reported the incident (which occurred last Saturday) and shared a video that police have released of the situation.

In the video you can see a woman pushing a stroller through what appears to be the food court / atrium area at the Atlanta Airport. Suddenly, a woman, 26 year old Esther Daniels, approached the mother and attempted to grab the children.

A struggle ensued where the mother (and father who was some distance away) successfully fight off the alleged kidnapper who then flees.

According to the report the alleged kidnapper (Daniels) was later physically apprehended and appeared to be in “frenzied mental state.” She was taken to the hospital then remanded to police custody.

What’s interesting about the video is that the alleged attacker appears to be standing in wait looking for an opportunity (for some time). Fortunately this incident was not a successful kidnapping but it’s a great reminder of the dangers when traveling and how scary these situations can be and the risks of human trafficking.
