The madness and chaos of Thanksgiving travel are upon us and many flight attendants will find themselves working the aisles while you fly to grandma’s house for turkey. How are they surviving the silliness? Some may be playing Flight Attendant Bingo to pass the time. We explain.

Thanksgiving travel is typically the busiest travel period of the year and 2021 is going to be no exception. Despite two hard pandemic years of travel, millions of passengers are hitting the skies this holiday. AAA is predicting that more than 54 million people will travel this holiday with 4.2 million traveling by air, representing an 80% increase from 2020.

And if you’ve traveled at all in the last two years, or been paying attention to the news, you know that air travel is different than pre-pandemic levels. Most notably, we are all still wearing face masks, a major point of contention for many travelers still. Tensions in the air and airports remain high, and in-flight incidents related to mask-wearing remain higher than ever.

It’s a tough time to be a flight attendant as they are the primary enforcement arm for the federal mask mandate covering transportation and it has placed them squarely in the crosshairs of far too many travel freakouts, many of which have turned physical.

However, many FAs are still working and the promise of extra pay over the holiday period is attractive to many. Some airlines, like American, are even offering bonuses to crew her work during the holiday period.

So, what’s a tired, stressed-out, flight attendant to do during the craziest travel time of the year? A time that in a non-pandemic world would have been a little nutty anyway? The answer is simple: bingo!

One flight attendant has devised a silly, sarcastic and fun way to pass the time in the air called flight attendant bingo. Shared to the r/flightattendants Reddit thread, one flight attendant might just have the way to have a little fun this holiday travel.

From grump group ops, to a fellow FA being a little sassy, to the passenger (aka Pax) hitting the FA light after you walk by, this bingo board should get filled out pretty quick.

We like it. It’s just enough sarcasm for our dark-ish humor to chortle a bit. Kudos to you, r/blassreiter for sharing this and we wish all flight crew in the air this busy week a safe and productive week. Good luck!

And for those of you hitting the skies this week who are not flight crew here’s some friendly advice: chill the heck out, wear your mask, don’t hit the flight attendant. Seriously, don’t.
