A camera recently caught a violent encounter at a Miami airport bus stop when a man attempted to strangle a woman with his shoelace. Bystanders came to her rescue while she fought off the vicious attack.

In one of the more horrific attacks we’ve seen a 27-year-old man named Aaron Quiñones attempted to strangle a 26-year-old woman who was seated at an airport bus stop.

On the morning of January 2nd, Qui̱ones is seen on camera placing his foot on a bench where the unnamed female is seated next to her suitcase. With this backpack and a travel pillow in frame, he appears to remove his shoelace, briefly glances behind him Рperhaps even looking at the camera Рthen calmly walks up behind the woman and begins to strangle her.

The shocked woman immediately begins to fight for her life and a brief struggle ensues where it would seem the shoelace slips off her neck. The man then starts to violently swing punches at her as she attempts to fend him off with her feet while laying on her back.

Moments later another man enters the frame and attempts to intervene first with words and gestures. Quickly realizing more was needed he grabs the man around the neck and shoulders pulling him off the woman. The video cuts off there.

The video, which was shared on social media, is provided below and viewers are warned due to its violent content.

The attack occurred at a bus stop near where passengers drop off and pick up rental cars at the Miami Dade International Airport and laster just under a minute.

According to reporting by the Miami Herald, Quiñones was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He is being held on a $250,000 bond. The Herald also notes this is not Quiñones’ first brush with the law. Apparently, he has a charge against him in North Carolina where we allegedly assaulted another female.

If not for the heroic efforts of the bystander and the woman’s valiant defense efforts the results may have ended tragically. Both the bystander and the woman were unnamed.

Thank you for posting this. I have waited at those airport pickup benches many, many times. I am usually exhausted and sometimes on my own. I take these things seriously. Some naysayers will say, “What are the chances?” I don’t want to die waiting for a ride. I would rather have knowledge and be prepared.
