“Ma’am, don’t touch me. Relax.” These are the words of a man who was accosted by an older woman on his flight while eating a candy bar. The woman and her husband, both of whom were wearing facemasks and face shields, appear to be extremely irritated the man has dropped his mask to eat his food.
In what has now become a daily feature on this blog, the travel freakout video of the day shows a man simply eating a candy bar on this flight. However, the masked (and face-guarded) couple to his right are quite nonplussed and let him know about it. At one point the woman hits the man, perhaps in an attempt to get him to stop recording the incident – maybe to knock the candy bar out of his hand.
Later the older man, yells something unintelligible, but clearly in an angry tone. The man continues eating his candy bar – something completely within his rights and current travel restrictions to do so.
Assault is a no small thing and this woman had no right to touch the other man, but as travel freakouts go, we’ll put this one in the “mild” category.

It’s not ok, ever to touch another person and should not be judged in degrees of acceptance based on others whose assaults were more or less aggregious. It is simply illegal, not mildly illegal. Until they are charged & face the financial consequences, their next victim is waiting to suffer from their empowered bad behavior.
Maybe the nutty old couple should wear hazmat suits the next time that they fly. BTW, if you believe that facemaks actually protect you, then you’ve drunk the Koolaid.
I disagree. I find it exceedingly tasteless to taunt some poor little old lady. She may have overreacted but between the face shield and the look of terror on her face, the guy is a sadist to not either remask or go to the lav to eat his snack. It’s sad that he gets his rocks off sharing how he terrified an old woman.
If anyone is so paranoid of catching Covid-19 they would attack a young person eating a candy bar they should stay at home.

Christian. Eat in the lav? Not sure about your thought process here. Your suggestions are unreasonable. Sad to see more and more people with similar beliefs to that of yours.
