The stupidest facemask I’ve seen yet (but I bet someone wears it on a plane)

Face masks are pretty much a part of our daily routine at this point and there are some unique ones out there these days (like the Uvex Bionic Face Shield...good lord), but one company has a new offering that takes the cake.

Face masks are pretty much a part of our daily routine at this point and there are some unique ones out there these days (like the Uvex Bionic Face Shield…good lord), but one company has a new offering that takes the cake.

The AIR by MicroClimate is somewhere between an astronaut’s space helmet and a face shield. Pictured below, this product gives you full coverage…and I mean full coverage. Literally your entire head is encased in a bubble.

The covid-19 pandemic has left millions of people with far too much time on their hands and the inventive have got to work inventing some shall-we-say unique protective measures. The AIR is just that. This 199.00 product includes a battery-powered hepa filter with four hours of battery life.

Imagine sitting on a 6 hour flight in this baby. NOT. A. CHANCE. Plus, the battery only lasts for 4 hours. To quote the infamous Randy Jackson, “Yeah, that’s a no for me dawg.”

Their product description notes:

“AIR filters both inlet air and outlet air through HEPA filters that are in front of and behind our fans. AIR’s acrylic visor enables an unobstructed view of the face. The user can also wear glasses without interference. The fabric inside and around the neck is lightweight and washable”

I am sure it does a fantastic job of preventing transmission of the coronavirus, but come on, this feels like overkill. I guarantee, though, someone will wear this on a plane. You can count on that.
