A false report of an active shooter at the Las Vegas International Airport sent travelers scurrying as hysteria erupted during the tense moments. Although later reported to have simply been a loud noise that startled passengers, scenes of panic were caught on film in a new video that’s going viral.
The Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas was home to a frightening scene this morning as passengers claimed to have heard two loud gunshots. Passengers quickly began to flee as hysteria briefly ensued. The Las Vegas Police Department has confirmed there were no gunshots fired at the airport and that travelers were safe. Apparently, a loud noise was heard instead that passengers mistook for gunshots.
New video from inside the terminal has emerged and is going viral including on platforms like Reddit where the original filmer of the video shared his experience. In the video, which is incorrectly dated, passengers are seen running, some even falling over, as they make their way to safety.

The incident has been confirmed by multiple sources to have been a false alarm and the airport then experienced significant delays throughout the day as it attempted to rescreen passengers.
Videos of passengers stuck in long security lines following the incident quickly flooded social media platforms as frustrated, but relieved, travelers attempted to get their travels back on track.
