Authorities are looking for help in finding an endangered missing 17-year-old girl who was last seen at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta. Emma Linek, who goes by Zari, has been missing for over four days now.
The FBI, local Atlanta police, and Zari’s parents are looking for any clues to her disappearance. According to the FBI’s press release, Emma Linek, who goes by Zari, flew into the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta last Tuesday.
The Ohio-based teen was traveling to Boston, however, flight delays caused her to be rerouted through Atlanta.
According to CBS 46, a local news station, Linek was last seen leaving an Atlanta Airport parking lot with a previously unknown man. Linek does not know anyone in the Atlanta area – including the man – which has given rise to serious concern about her safety.
Fox 5 News now says that authorities know the man’s identity and have been in contact with him, but are not releasing his identity at this time.
Zari was seen wandering the Atlanta airport appearing confused at times.
The FBI’s Special Agent Christopher Macrea had this to say, “The only thing that I will mention about her medical condition is that in discussions with Mr. Linek, she is clinically diagnosed as autistic. But in speaking with Mr. Linek, you would not know that through in your general interactions with her. As Mr. Linek had mentioned, she is a very outgoing, bubbly person.”
The search remains ongoing and anyone with information or tips is encouraged to contact the FBI’s tipline at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324).
Linek is 5-foot-3, 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
