A man who’d brought his own alcohol with him on board a recent flight from Puerto Rico to New York caused a disturbance that required the flight to divert. At one point the drunken passenger choked his wife.
A recent flight from San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) to New York’s John F. Kennedy (JFK) airport was diverted to Richmond International Airport (RIC) in Virginia. The cause of the diversion was related to an African American male passenger who’d apparently brought an entire bottle of Hennesey alcohol with him on board and had consumed a substantive amount of it.
According to a report by View from the Wing, the passenger was engaged in an altercation with his spouse where we he is reported to have choked her.
The JetBlue flight (flight number 2404) diverted to Richmond’s airport where the male passenger was removed from the plane by local authorities. A video shared with View from the Wing shows the man being more or less dragged off the plane by two uniformed officers while his pants drooped around his waist, showing a healthy portion of his buttocks as he was removed.
After spending over an hour on the ground the flight took off again headed towards its final destination in New York City without further incident..
