The former NFL player involved in a violent encounter at the airport had been facing charges of assault after an altercation with a United Gate agent that got physical. In the video, the wide receiver can be seen bloodying the face of the airline employee.
Earlier this year, Brandon Langley, a former Denver Bronco wide receiver, and at the time, Calgary Stampeder, was arrested after an altercation with a United Airlines employee at the Newark Airport.
Langely and the employee squared up in a violent encounter that saw the face of the airline employee get bloodied. Later, the United Airlines employee was fired (although not arrested). Langely, however, was arrested and faced assault charges.
For this part, Langley says the fight was instigated by the United Airlines employee, claiming the man called him a P****Y and challenged him to a fight, saying he “ran this airport.”
That Langley was simply defending himself was the thrust of his court defense and the court agreed, after TMZ reported that a judge had dismissed charges in the case earlier this week.
Halim Dhanidina, Langley’s attorney, stated, “We are grateful for the Court’s decision which puts an end to this ordeal that began nearly two months ago when Mr. Langley was assaulted then wrongfully arrested and charged for exercising his rights under the law.”
The Calgary Stampeders, his team at the time, had suspended Langely indefinitely, and have not issued a statement on whether Langely will be allowed to return to the team.
