Ever forgotten something in your hotel room safe? That sinking feeling as you are getting out of the Uber at the airport after a long week of fun at the resort, maybe? It can be pretty easy to forget something in your hotel room, nevermind your hotel room safe. And it can be quite frustrating when it happens.

A KLM flight attendant thinks she has the perfect hack to help you never forget something in your hotel room safe again: put a shoe in the safe with whatever possessions you are storing in the safe.

We aren’t dismissing the validity of forgetting something in your safe (it happens), or the creativity of using something like a shoe to help jog your memory, but there are some problems.

For example, safes are small and my feet are huge. Like size 14 huge. A size 14 shoe might not even fit into a small safe. Plus, I usually travel with a couple of pairs of shoes so what’s to say I don’t forget the shoe in the safe too?

Also, shoes kinda stink. Why would I want a stinky shoe next to the think I am trying to keep safe?

To each their own, I guess, but this hack isn’t for us. Better idea? Sure, us an alarm, or an alert, or a timed email to remind you to get your stuff out of the same. Or, just get better at adulting.
