A male passenger violently attacked another man after he bumped into his wife. The event, which was captured on a now-viral video, occurred on a recent Southwest Airlines flight.
We’ve all been there. Bumped by someone boarding a plane. Or accidentally bumped someone with our bag or an elbow as we shuffle down the far too-small aisles that are featured on commercial air travel these days. Or perhaps it’s grabbing your bag out of the overhead bin or simply existing on the flight. Bottom line: it’s hard not be up close and personal with fellow passengers and some knocks and bumps are going to occur.
Sure, there are ways to minimize this. Hyperawareness for starters. Or using properly sized and packed luggage. But, when it happens (and will) it’s important to either quickly apologize (if you are the offending party) or demure (if you are the offended party).
That’s not what happened on a recent Southwest Airlines flight when a man became enraged after a fellow passenger bumped into his wife. Was it chivalry or an overreaction? You decide.

According to Live and Let’s Fly, the man who accidentally bumped the wife then became aggressive causing the man to defend his family’s honor. Regardless – it sure seems like a case of two men acting way out of control under what is a common situation that occurs on crowded flights. A complete overreaction.
