As the kid storms out of the lobby, he hits the door on the way out. The hotel manager quickly follows behind and tells the kid, “I will take 20 years of the military and beat yo a**! Don’t you ever disrespect nobody up in this hotel!” Today’s travel-related freakout comes from a Marriott where the hotel manager has had enough of two kids disrespecting his staff.


While details are a bit scant and mostly one-sided (we only have the alleged guest’s video), it’s clear the manager hit his breaking point after a fracas of some sort occurred in the lobby of his hotel.

In the video, we see the manager and a young man in the lobby engaged in a conversation while being recorded by an unseen female who sounds like she’s in tears.

It’s unclear what the argument is about, although it seems that the couple may have been asking for the cops to be called for some reason. However, the manager makes it clear that the couple had disrespected his staff in some way. He “shooshs” the woman who doesn’t take kindly to the act and storms out of the hotel with her boyfriend who either kicks or hits the door on the way out.

The manager follows the younger man out and tells him to not push on his door, letting the man know he’s not the person we think he is and that he will take “20 years of military experience and beat his ass.” He shoos them off his property.

It’s unclear what truly prompted this exchange, and while almost everyone can relate to disrespectful kids, the manager’s response seems inappropriate. That said, we only have one side of the story and there may be much more to this than we’ll ever know.

The video and a shorter version were both shared to TikTok, then crossposted to Reddit where Redditors seemed to generally be taking the side of the hotel manager noting that hoteliers have had to experience their own version of the “airplane freakouts” and bad behavior we see in the skies the last 2 years. Many are simply done with it.

You said the managers reaction seems inappropriate? I wonder if you have ever worked a service job. The manager stuck up for his employees which is commendable. The kid obviously did something way out of line to get a reaction like that. I’m in shock of your opinion
