A man made vulgar comments to an airport employee before threatening to shoot law enforcement officers after calling them racist. The incident started after a violent encounter involving three men one of which was slammed to the ground violently.
The incident occurred in last December at the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and FOX 8 News, a local OH affiliate, recently obtained video of the event.
According to FOX 8, a man appears to challenge a passenger from France to a fistfight. They scuffle on the video and eventually (for unknown reasons) another man joins the fight. Soon the man is slammed violently to the ground splitting his head open and appearing to knock him unconscious.
FOX 8 tracked down a witness to the event, a North Dakota man named Brian Cassidy who had this say: “He picks him up and slams him to the ground. And, I honestly thought the guy was dead because he wasn’t moving. And, that’s when I’m like, ‘What are you doing?’ I’m not a medic. I don’t know what to do, so I just went to praying for him. Praying that Jesus would keep him safe, keep him healed, protect him until some help could come.”
Apparently, a few days after the incident, an airport worker reported a man making vulgar comments to her and bodycam footage from that event suggested it was the same man involved in the fisticuffs. He was recorded threatening to shoot the police and calling them racist.
While felony charges have been filed, the victim is out of the country appearing to have returned to his home country of France. The primary suspect was arrested and referred to a psychological evaluation process after pleading not guilty.
