The BirdHouse is a chicken shack in a remote town in Northern Arizona. So remote it sits on the border between Arizona and Utah. Page, Arizona is the town you stay in when you visit Lake Powell, arguably the most picturesque lake in the world (although drought conditions have seriously impacted the lake). What the town may lack in charm it more than made up for it with the lake. Now, the town has one of the best places to eat in the country after the BirdHouse made the list at #2 in TripAdvisor’s best quick bites of 2022 list.
“We’ve stopped and/or stayed in Page many times and we’ve tried many restaurants. While most are fine, we never found one we wanted to return to. Now we have – we will forevermore stop and eat at BirdHouse in Page! The chicken is fabulous – better than finger licking good. The sauce is heavenly and the fries were very good. I can’t rave about the cole slaw though – it wasn’t great. We will try broccoli salad with bacon next time through. The restaurant is rustic – wooden tables and benches and metal chairs. Condiments are where you can pick them up yourself. We started inside but the music was too loud so we went outside. Even in August it was ok because there were spray misters keeping the place cool. I don’t know who started this place but I hope they stay put for many years to come so we can visit again and again!”
