A short clip on TikTok shows a masked passenger giving an airline employee the business. The woman is expressing her displeasure at some sort of flight delay that, in her words, is linked to airline staffing issues.
The clip is short and was shared to TikTok from an account known as KarenCompany – a popular TikTok account that shares videos of “Karens in the wild.” Karen, in case you’ve been living under a rock, has entered the zeitgeist as a derogatory way to refer to an entitled female often caught in the act of freaking out on someone.
This clip, which we mentioned is very brief, shows a line of passengers at the airport in what appears to be a gate area. There must have been some sort of delay in the trip and the woman, who is traveling with someone we presume to be her husband, is having none of it.
As she rants, she leans heavily into the fact that the airline is short-staffed which is causing her delay – at least according to her.
The video is heavily interspersed with swearing and at one point even the man she’s traveling with is asking her to pump the brakes on the rant. You can see him die a little on the inside.
The airline employee, who’s not seen in this video, reminds her that if she doesn’t dial it back she won’t be traveling. She retorts, “We aren’t traveling anyway!” The airline employee clarifies his point, implying that she won’t be flying at all on the airline – permanently, not just tonight.
Towards the end of her rant, threats of lawyers inevitably show up before the clip ends with an anti-climatic whimper.
