TSA PreCheck, the popular accelerated airport security screening program, announced the addition of four new international airlines to their program.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced the addition of four new international airlines to their popular TSA PreCheck program. The popular accelerated airport security program prescreens qualified and accepted travelers before they arrive at the airport and then provides a special security screening lane and process for them is featured at 200 or so airports in the United States. Over 80 airlines participate in the program including several international airlines like Air India, Air Serbia, Emirates and Icelandair.

On Wednesday the TSA shared a press release noting that four new international air carriers had joined the program. Air Europa, Flair, Volaris El Salvador, and ITA Airways have all joined the program and will be available at applicable airports.

Participants in the TSA PreCheck program must pay an $85 dollar fee and submit to an enhanced background and screening process before being allowed entry into the program. If approved members are issued a KTN, or Known Travel Number that can be used when booking travel on applicable airlines (over 80 thus far). When arriving at the airport, members can choose the TSA PreCheck security line which provides an accelerated screening process that doesn’t include some of the burdens of the primary security line (e.g., you don’t have to remove your shoes or jacket) and the line is almost always far shorter.
