A woman traveling on Spirit Airlines shared her story on TikTok when the airline boots her from the plane after confusing her skin condition with Monkeypox. Jacqueline, who goes by the TikTok handle @jacqueline.ngu, recorded a video that describes the humiliating experience.
“They had me get off the plane in front of everyone along with my wife to interrogate me about the eczema I’ve had my whole life,” she notes.
In a follow-up video, she shares that after she was able to produce a tube of eczema cream she was allowed to reboard the plane, however, the humiliation and damage had already occurred.
The story has since gone viral with several outlets reporting on the incident, including News.com.au, a popular Australian news site, which has contacted Spirit Airlines for comment but had not received one at the time of publishing.
