Massachusetts State Police are investigating a violent encounter between two American Airlines employees earlier this week where one was stabbed. One man was taken into custody.
According to a local Boston news report, Massachusetts State Troopers responded to an assault call that occurred on the ramp in Terminal B of Boston’s Logan Airport. The incident occurred around 1:30 AM and apparently started first with a verbal altercation before turning violent.
A 38-year old man who hails from Lynn, Massachusetts was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after suffering a stab wound caused by a multitool Leatherman. A 34-year-old man, Kenric Smith, who hails from Leominster, Massachusetts, was taken into custody by troopers who found the Leatherman on him.
The incident appears to be solely related to a disagreement between the two men and nothing further. Police were careful to note that passengers were never in any danger despite the incident.
Smith faces charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. No impact to flights in and out of the Boston Logan Airport were identified.
