Southwest’s Travel Fiasco is pricey, pricey!
Southwest Airlines got some negative press the other day (from us and many other outlets) about the real reasons behind their massive delays and cancellations that spiraled out of control. Not without evidence, we speculated that maybe Southwest wasn’t being completely truthful about the reasons for the debacle and that maybe, just maybe, pilots and ATCs against the recent vaccine mandates were staging a sick-out. We now know the cost of the debacle. According to Travel Pulse, the cost is 75 big ones. Yup, $75 million dollars. OUCH
United Airlines thinks vaccine mandates are the biggest risk airlines face now

Scott Kirby, the UA CEO thinks they represent the biggest risk airlines have ahead of them and he might be right given their controversial nature and the timing of said mandates with the impending busy holiday schedule. Seems that while many people are pro-vaccine they are anti-mandate. Either way, it could be a mess!
