Delta Airlines reportedly offered $6,000 gift cards to passengers to reschedule their flight, but when that didn’t work, the flight was canceled and the airline threw a pizza party instead.
In what reads a little bizarrely, a story has emerged about Delta Airlines flight to Rome that was canceled after turning back for a gas leak. Elizabeth Ochoa, a passenger on the Boston-originated flight, shared the story to TikTok in a video that showed the passengers eating Nick’s pizza after the flight was eventually canceled.
After the plane returned to the airport, passengers were offered $6,000 compensation, which Ochoa reportedly rejected (we’d have taken it…probably). However, eventually the
Delta, of course, has been in the headlines lately over $10,000 offers for folks to give up seats. The eye-popping numbers are hard to believe, but the travel world is a strange place these days.
Ochoe told Fortune that Delta refunded everyone’s travel, put them up in hotels, and, most importantly, threw a pizza party.
