A 34-year-old man was arrested earlier this week after becoming drunk and unruly and eventually assaulting a woman, a child, a gate agent and breaching the jetbridge door. After being unsuccessfully tased several times, the man was finally arrested where he faces multiple charges.
Ryan Martin, a 34-year-old native New Yorker who hails from Yonkers, was arrested in Orlando, Florida earlier this week after having too much to drink and assaulting several bystanders. According to a local news report, Martin, who was flying home from the Orlando Airport (MCO), had too much to drink and started to become irate.
The event was witnessed by several bystanders including one woman, Jessica Smith, who captured a portion of it on camera before sharing it with news organizations. Martin can be seen and heard on the video yelling obscenities and at one point, demanding that no one touch him because he was going to “put on a <expletive> show.”
Other witnesses noted that Martin had grabbed a woman by the neck – perhaps someone he was traveling with – and shoved her child away. Witnesses corroborated these accounts noting that Martin had also grabbed her by the hair. Witnesses also noted that the woman placed herself between Martin and her children in an attempt to keep some space between him and them. He then pushed her at least two more times, bystanders noted.
After breaching the jetbridge door near the gate area and setting off the alarm the 34-year-old stormed down the jetbridge. Airport police arrive and after tasing Marting several times, each of which appeared to be ineffective, an officer tackled Martin and placed him under arrest.
Martin was booked into the Orange County Jail and faces multiple charges including battery, child abuse, domestic violence, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.
