Los Angeles World Airport, or LAX, recently opened a new economy parking lot for travelers and there’s a way you can save up to 70% on your parking fees if you do this when parking your car.
At $25.00 a day, the new LAX economy parking lot is not exactly cheap, but then again, airport parking seldom is. However, the new lot does offer parkers a way to save big when parking their car. The new lot, which opened October 19th, adds over 4,000 new parking spots for the busy airport.
The lot is formally known by its super sexy official moniker: LAX’s Intermodal Transportation Facility – West, or as we have decided to call it: the new LAX economy lot. And the four-story facility is located a short half-mile away from the airport. Eventually, the lot will feature a stop by the new LAX train under construction, but for now, travelers can take a free shuttle to the terminal.
The lot also features electric vehicle charging stations which may be handy for some travelers given the increase in EV ownership these days. However, at $25.00 a day – the lot is hardly economy-priced.
But, LAX wants travelers to pre-book their parking using their website. Based on a dynamic pricing model that leverages the length of the parking reservation, availability, and how far in advance parkers reserve their spot, travelers may be able to save up to 70% and that is a big deal.

A fussy point: Los Angeles World Airports (https://www.lawa.org) is the agency that operates LAX and Van Nuys Airport. The formal name of LAX, though, is Los Angeles International Airport, as you can see throughout the LAWA website (for example, at https://www.lawa.org/lawa-governance/about-lawa). It’s not Los Angeles World Airport.
This post still contains very useful information, of course.
The Economy Lot at LAX is definitely a good option but there are parking lots off-site, just a block away. The closest ones are QuikPark, Joes Airport Parking, and I believe the Hilton is the closest hotel with airport parking. You can save up to 80% off. They usually have free 24/7 shuttles that can save you a lot of money on airport parking, especially if you’re going on a long trip.
