A man who plead guilty to sexually abusing a woman on an airplane was recently ordered to pay the 18-year old victim $500 in restitution, was sentenced to one and half years in prison, and 6 years on probation.
Ian Wagner, a 39-year-old man from New Haven, Indiana, stood accused of abusive sexual contact of an incapacitated victim for his actions on a Denver-bound flight from Indianapolis in 2017. He plead guilty and recently learned what his punishment would be.
According to WISHTV, a local Indiana news station, Wagner was seated next to an 18-year old female student on a Denver-bound flight from his home state of Indiana when he began caressing the inner thigh of the woman who had fallen asleep.
When the woman awoke she managed to take a picture of Wagner before retreating to the lavatory to hide. Eventually, she returned to her seat fearing there was no other place she could sit. Later, she observed Wagner appearing to masturbate under a jacket he’d placed over his lap. Wagner was reported to have briefly lifted the jacket, exposing his penis to the passenger, before continuing to masturbate for around 5 minutes while staring at her.
Two days later, the woman reported the incident to the authorities where it was investigated resulting in a grand jury indictment of Wagner for two counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent exposure, according to Wane.com.
Wagner was arrested in 2020 and ultimately plead guilty to one count of abusive sexual contact. The judge sentenced Wagner to one and half years in jail, 6 years of probation and $500 in restitution to be paid to the victim.
The court case was tried in Nebraska because the picture taken of Wagner by the victim showed a geolocation code of Hastings, Nebraska, indicating the incident occurring while the plane was over Nebraska.

Sounds like CNN may have a job for Ian Wagner when he gets out. He fits the profile of their kind of employee. Now if he can get good and drunk he might even have a spot on CNN’s New Year’s show.
$500? Gee, does he have to pay it all at once or can creepy felon dude break it into payments? Sheesh, why bother for such a ridiculous amount?
