Passengers laugh and cheer when racist woman gets arrested at gate

As a woman is arrested for what appears to be disorderly conduct at the Atlanta Airport, the passengers in the crowd laugh and cheer. One man narrates the experience for us as the woman was reported to have called the security guard the n-word.

A woman was arrested at the Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport on Friday gate C55, where a Delta Airlines flight destined for Columbia, South Carolina, was set to depart.

While the initial incident is not shown in the video below, it appears the woman may have been intoxicated and was ranting for a bit. At one point, according to the man recording the video, she is alleged to have called a security guard the n-word.

The man recording the video and other fellow passengers are taking bets on if she’s intoxicated while other passengers laugh and cheer her arrest.

It’s a bit difficult to make out, but the woman appears to complain that she’s had to stay in Mississippi and Alabama and that she hates these places.

She struggles a bit with the officer during the arrest but is ultimately taken into custody.

The video was shared to TikTok and Reddit and we’ve posted it below.

The incident is, like so many, yet another travel freakout involving alcohol. The rise of airplane and airport incidents continues to shock many and appears to have no end in sight.

The more accurate title and story was that a woman using racist language was arrested. The idea that anyone using racist language is a racist should not be condoned.

You are correct if this is ONLY a very rare occurence. There is not a person alive who has not uttered a racial epithet RARELY.

Greetings Marc. I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiment, but I would suspect that the woman was arrested for disorderly conduct. Using racist language is not a crime, though it certainly shows a bullying mindset of the one using the language. Racists are bullies, regardless of their own ethic background. They evidently have no personal achievements that they can claim. I fully agree that racist language is wrong, and I would never stoop to that low level of using such language. But it we start censoring words in the United States, we start down a very dangerous path. If I may use an old comparison about roaches, racists are better exposed by sunlight that shows their bullying and immoral mindset. There probably is not much hope for most with a racist attitude, but perhaps the sunlight will prevent others for falling into the clutches of such behavior. Hopefully this woman’s family, friends, and every person she comes in contact with see this and avoid her like the deathly plague that she is.

Maybe its time to initiate the FUI Flying under the influence. People drinking have impaired judgement and since we have dui for cars lets have it for flying. Better yet remove alcohol sales from airports and have breathalyzer with heafty fines.

Prohibition didn’t work but any adult may act hateful if they get drunk. So many people are ignorant about the current issue of race in America.

FAA regulations already prohibit airlines from boarding passengers who “appear” intoxicated. Airlines, and the individuals involved, can be subjected to substantial civil penalties for failure to comply. Sidenote: Unfortunately, some medical and mental conditions render a person appearing to be intoxicated and has resulted in an occasional misidentification. Airlines are also prohibited from “overserving” alcoholic beverages to customers. However, some passengers do not appear to be overserved until they are either slugging a flight attendant or yanking on the exit door or cockpit door handle. I wouldn’t lose any sleep if alcohol sales on board was discontinued.

Maybe it’s also time to remove in-airport bars and prohibit alcohol service at in-airport restaurants & lounges? I find it bizarre, hypocritical, and oxymoronic for airports to allow any alcohol tp be served to travelers who can then be denied boarding on airlines due to having been drinking.

Some of us like an occasional drink when flying. The whole point is, if I can have a drink and know whn to stop and what NOT to say, then wht should I be punished because a bigot cannot handle their booze OR themselves?
