When you need to charge you need to charge! A former NFL player apparently needed to do just that when he is alleged to have stolen a charging cord from a fellow traveler’s bag at the airport. He was later arrested.
According to a local Fox news report, former NFL defensive back Damian Alexander Parms was arrested after being accused of stealing a charging cord from a Prada bag in late November. A fellow traveler reported that his Prada bag had been removed from the baggage carousel at the Atlanta-Hartsfield International Airport (ATL). The bag was later found on a different carousel with a charging cord removed.
An initial investigation suggested that the bag had been removed by a man destined for a MARTA transit train. The man was later determined to be Parms, the former NFL player. Parms was later spotted at the Atlanta airport and arrested. After being confronted by officers he informed them he’d initially taken the bag to a Spirit Airlines baggage carousel in an entirely different terminal.
The bag was located with only a charging cord missing. Parms was arrested and taken to the Clayton County jail where he was booked after being charged with removal of baggage, freight, or other items transported by a bus or stored in a terminal, a violation of Ga. Code § 16-12-124.
Parms was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 2015 and played for the Carolina Panthers and Buffalo Bills.
