A wild melee broke out on a recent flight from Paris to French Guiana via Air Caraïbes airline. Multiple passengers were arrested as punches fly midair. See the viral video here.
According to a report from the online journal France-Guyane, a massive fight broke out on a recent Cayenne-bound flight that originated in Paris on Friday. The Air Caraïbes flight had departed Paris’ Orly airport destinated for the capital of French Guiana, Cayenne when a disturbance between passengers who’d been drinking occurred.
The airline released a statement noting, “Serious incivilities occurred between two groups of passengers in the middle and end of flight TX570.”
Multiple videos of the incident have emerged and were widely shared across social media. The show as many as 7 or 8 people involved in the fracas at various points.
After landing, three people were taken into custody and apparently face up to three years in prison.
The airline’s statement further noted, “These behaviors on board an aircraft are inexcusable: they endanger the safety of the flight, our customers, and our cabin crew. Air Caraïbes apologizes to the passengers who witnessed and were victims of these altercations on board this flight and assures them of its determination to do everything possible – in cooperation with the local authorities – to find out their origins in order to be able to remedy them.”
