A dog who escaped from its travel carrier was seen running wild on the tarmac as baggage handlers chased it. Fortunately, the puppy wasn’t hurt and was eventually recaptured. Watch the now-viral video here.
The incident occurred at the Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico and shows a small dog that reportedly escaped from its travel carrier and starts to make a mad dash around the tarmac. Several baggage handlers scurry after the pup (who is probably scared) who leads them on quite the chase as it darts and dodges them for several minutes.
As a scene from a Laurel and Hardy bit unfolds, passengers recording the incident are heard chuckling a bit, perhaps even encouraging the pupper as it scurries around the tarmac.
Joking aside, this was probably a terrifying experience for the puppy and a frustrating experience for the baggage handlers. As someone who’s had to chase our own small dogs running down the street towards a busy intersection, it is a frustrating experience and a scary one. Also, those doggos have some moves…whew…hard to catch.
Glad this one worked out ok in the end, and we imagine that the airline is going to have some explaining to do to the owners of the small dog.
