In what is probably one of the cooler amenities ever offered by a hotel, this New York City hotel property just opened a curling rink and the timing is perfect. Hello Winter Olympics!

Puns aside, the idea of sneaking in some curling on your hotel stay/visit to NYC sounds pretty cool to us. We are in! Fortunately, the Millenium Hotel Times Square just opened a curling rink…right in time for the Winter Olympics.

According to a Travel Weekly report, the M Social Time Square, a hotel in the Millenium family of hotels (which includes the Biltmore, Copthorne and Studio M brands), just opened a new curling rink available to guests.

The M Social Times Square is conveniently located in Times Square making it a popular destination for tourists and with the Winter Olympics just kicking off some curling could be just what is needed to take your trip over the top.

Curling, of course, is a wildly popular sport during the Olympics and is played year-round in certain parts of the world. According to the Travel Weekly article, more than 25,000 people in the United States curl. Wow!

There’s a wonderful video on the history curling called “Throwing Stones” and we’ve shared it for our readers below. Worth a watch.

Guests of the M Social Times Square must book a reservation for the rink and the slots are 45-minutes in length. The cost is $30 per person. The rink is located near the Beast & Butterflies rooftop lounge making it convenient to snag some grub (and beer) in between your throws.
