A China Airlines jet has crashed into a baggage cart while taxiing early Friday morning at a Chicago area airport. No injuries have been reported, but the damage was extensive.


According to a report from Chicago’s Fox 32 News Channel, the airplane had just left the gate and was taxiing at the O’Hare International Airport (ORD) when it smacked into a baggage cart.

Images shared to Twitter and apparently provided by a viewer, show extensive damage to the left engine of the plane and show a baggage cart in the foreground smashed under the engine. An additional cart appears tipped over in the background.

Snow covers the ground in the wintery landscape, as Flight 5240, sits damaged.

According to the report, the Chicago Fire Department responded to the scene of the incident which occurred around 6:30AM Friday morning.
