Antimasker flips out, asks flight attendant to join him in the lavatory, gets booted from flight

A passenger on a recent JetBlue flight was removed after some extremely bizarre behavior that included him refusing to wear his mask, using the lavatory twice before takeoff, asking a flight attendant to join him in the lavatory, and attempting to fight another passenger.

The bizarre incident was partially captured on video and shared on Reddit along with a very lengthy explanation of the events (below, after the video). We have been unable to verify the incident’s details in their entirety, but a good deal of it checks out from the video that was provided.

Here’s the video of some of the incident:

Original Poster’s comment on Reddit, in it’s entirety:

“Starting off with props for the people that spoke up and huge props to the flight attendants that dealt with this guy. They took a lot of badmouthing and kept cool the whole time. One of those things you see online and think how that happens, and then it happens in front of you.

Full story:

Guy gets on the plane and is doing the normal “talking to the crowd although nobody is listening or responding” thing. Nobody bites. I put my headphones in and ignored it. Whatever, short flight made long but I’ll deal.

We start to have issues with the plane and are sitting out on the runway for a while (I can get into it but not relevant) this guy decides to call some girl he wants and proceeds to badmouth her boyfriend and try to convince her to go with him. Took his mask off for that, which nobody said anything about yet. After a few curses people note there are kids in the row in front of us and are getting ticked off but nobody wants to stand up yet. He taps me on the shoulder and invites me into his phone conversation by asking my name and where I’m from and I respond with enough of a delay to try and duck out. I put my headphones back in and he goes back to it.

At some point when that finishes (not sure what he was saying at that point because I turned my music up trying not to get involved) he gets antsy and wants to use the bathroom, this being after he already got up when we left the gate to go and they made an exception. He basically jumped over me, so I hopped in the row behind me to leave him alone in the row we had (I’m now in the last row in the plane that also had open spaces).

He is cursing in there on another phone call and the flight attendant rightly asks “hey are you alright” to which he opens the door and says “you can join me if you want”. This is where she started the protocol to make sure cops were at the gate, because by that time we had returned for the mechanics to fix the plane, and this guy was clearly on the warpath. When he gets out of the bathroom, they tell him to put on a mask and he is giving it the usual “nobody tells me what to do ” and the “I paid good money for this flight so I can do what I want” nonsense. That’s where they try to communicate with the “If you don’t back down, you’re going to be on a list” disguised phrases like “Sir if you do not comply, we will have to ask you to leave the plane”. Curses go flying and they head to the front of the plane to get help

This is the point where some of the other passengers start to jump in with “hey shut the fuck up buddy” and the one guy who for some reason was only pissed that he was talking to women like that with the “do you talk to your mother like that” and “You cant talk to women like that” kinda lines. This escalates into the guy saying “You wanna take this outside … the plane?” to which my new neighbor says “Guy I’m twice your size and half your age. I’ll actually break your bones.” to which the asshole says “Yeah, I know”. The other guy was briefly confused before laughing to tears.

After that kind of talk and confrontation the first jetblue guy you see in the video gets to the back of the plane and asks to talk with the asshole in “the galley” where he says “This is not a discussion – you need to leave the plane now” which leaves the asshole to say “How am I supposed to get home” and “Nobody tells me to leave a plane”.

Right then is when I start filming because I’m thinking this could get bad and I should probably have some documentation. You can see I’m breathing in a really stressed out way because I just want to get home, I don’t want to get involved, and I don’t want anyone to get hurt.

Side note, the guy in my row was there because he was in line for the bathroom being that we sat on the plane for a couple hours.

The rest is in the video – aside for the afterparty where everyone was making fun of this guy the whole way and the flight attendants that were showering us with snacks and drinks because they wanted to make it better – but honestly I just felt bad the whole time because they were the ones that deserve the destressors.” [sic]

Newsflash snowflake. Once the muzzle requirement is lifted you’ll soon realize that 90% of the population are, in your words, “anti maskers” when most choose not to wear the chin diapers when they arent forced to. The reality is that most of the population are tired of this covid nonsense.
