A 41-year-old British man is accused of attacking and raping a British Airways flight attendant during a stopover in the Caribbean island of Barbados.

Daniel Johnson has lived in Barbados for the last several years according to The Sun. The British citizen sells electric cars and was recently arrested after being accused of raping a British Airways flight attendant at a local 5-star hotel and resort.

The flight attendant was staying in Barbados on a stopover before returning to London and was known to Johnson.

Apparently, the 20-something flight attendant invited Johnson back to the hotel with her after dinner with her British Airways flight crew where she was then allegedly attacked. Johnson was arrested and released on a bail of 4,000 pounds. He was ordered to hand over his passport and report to the local police station twice a week.

The outgoing flight to London that the flight attendant was set to work the next was canceled as the investigation was ongoing and the British airline sent their own investigative crew to the island to assist in determining the facts and to help support their employee. The incident briefly left around 150 passengers, according to The Sun, stranded on the island.
