After seeing his luggage open as it came down the carousel, a man jumped onto the belt and crawled through the opening in an attempt to confront the baggage handlers.
The Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) was in for an unusual treat earlier this week when a man clambered through the opening where luggage comes out in the baggage claim area. The passenger was certain his bag had been plundered after seeing it slightly unzipped and finding a pair of sneakers valued at around $1000 missing.
According to Fox 8 News, Nicholas Garrett went through the opening after seeing an employee. The airport police were contacted and while he was ultimately arrested he only faced a fine of $100 and pleaded no contest to a charge of criminal trespass.
A video was posted to the Fox 8 website, showing the man peering in, then climbing through:
It remains unclear as to whether Garrett recovered the missing shoes.
