Person plummets from C17 after clinging to its fuselage on takeoff

Viewer Discretion Advised: this video is disturbing. A person clinging to the fuselage of a C17 loaded with passengers fleeing the Taliban-controlled city of Kabul plummets to the ground as the plane lifts off.

In an image that is eerily reminiscent of people leaping from the Twin Towers on 9/11 a single person falls to the ground, presumably 100’s of feet, as the C17 evacuation flight lifts off. The video was shared to Reddit, below:

Note: the video shared to Reddit, appears to be originally sourced from the local news agency Asvaka

As has been widely reported in the last 24 hours, the country of Afghanistan has fallen into Taliban control and total chaos has descended on the country including the capital city of Kabul where a Saigon-esque evacuation was underway.

Thousands of residents attempting to clamber on to some of the last flights out of the airport in a desperate bid to escape. Indeed, as we reported earlier, an Apache helicopter was needed to clear the runway as people attempted to jump on the plane.

An alternative view of the incident was also shared to Reddit:

In a video tweeted by Amichai Stein, an Israeli journalist, people can be seen clinging to the landing gear and fuselage of the plane as it starts its taxi.

Heartbreaking images and videos as total madness ensues in the country of Afghanistan, now controlled by the Taliban some twenty years after the US invasion following the events of 9/11.

RJB — That is an incredibly insensitive and inappropriate comment for such a tragic video. You can argue the policies and actions of this, or any, administration elsewhere. Have some humanity and decency.

Complete CHAOS. Thats what describes the first 7 months of the Biden/Harris clown show. Our southern border is pretty much controled by mexican cartels, hundreds of new covid cases pouring in daily. Young women are being taken throught Afghanistan by Taliban for sex slaves. Biden just said a week ago no way the taliban would overrun Afghanistan. Our cities crime rates are going through the roof, covid is running rampant once again with the talking points changing daily by Fauci. Our schools, workplaces, and military is being infested by CRT, inflation is soaring to record levels. Biden campaigned on saying he would return our country back to normal after Donald Trump – is this the new normal?

Twenty years, thousands of US soldier lives, and a trillion dollars wasted on a place that folded like a wet napkin. It was never going to end in any other way, as there was no exit plan or goal set when Dubya got involved there under false pretenses. Saudis and one UAE citizen piloted the 9/11 planes, not Afghanis. Are we still looking for those Iraqi weapons of mass destruction too? Good riddance. Not the US’s problem anymore, it’s not even clear, other than clickbait, why this is on a travel blogger site, unless this is how Spirit Airlines plans to operate going forward.

Sad Indeed. But Biden administration has my full support on the withdrawl. The alternative is keep spending trillions of $$ and to recoup that cost, increase taxes on american citizens or american companies. Sorry but we don’t want that. Let Afghanistan ruled by their own people, and we withdraw from expensive wars.

A huge victory in the War Against Women. I thought Biden was on the side of women. Just talk.
