A man wearing a Trump hat cuts the airport security line so he can be next to a woman demanding her six feet of space. The results are predictable as yelling ensues, during which the woman pulls her mask down to demand her “six feet of space!”
Two videos were shared to Reddit that show different angles of a brief encounter between two passengers standing in the security line at Atlanta’s Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. The first video shows a woman yelling at a man wearing a hat. In this video, she’s demanding that she get her “Mother******* six feet,” as she pulls her mask down to make her point clear. She asks the man who he thinks he talking to. His reply? “You, You, You!”
An alternate angle shows a slightly longer discussion between the two and reveals in more detail the hat the man is wearing. The Trump hat is, at first glance, merely interesting, but the original poster of the second video offered a clarifying comment when he posted his video on Reddit which adds a twist to the story:
Backstory: She was upset that travelers behind her in line we’re not giving her six feet of buffer space. Them: “Just move forward!” Her: “No, you move BACK” (into the mass of many dozens of people waiting in line behind them?). The man in the MAGA hat then skipped ahead of those people so that HE could be right behind her, saying “You sound like a fool! You want six feet? I’ll be right next to you now, how about that?” She seemed to be guilty of early-morning airport crankiness and COVID burnout, but he was a wackadoodle spoiling for a fight.Original Poster of second video
There is no video evidence of the man actually cutting the line, but if the original poster’s comments are accurate, then this is certainly a nasty move on his part. Anyone who has traveled in the past two years knows that the six feet “rule” is loosely (very loosely) adhered to at the airport, and of course isn’t followed at all once the boarding process begins.
Even still, if someone is clearly uncomfortable with the distance, it’s a bit of a d*ick move to cut the line just to antagonize someone. Conversely, one certainly begins to question how serious the concerns are when the woman pulls her mask down so she can hurl expletives at the passenger.
I think we can all agree, the masks need to go, and we need to move on with life.
No word on how this incident ended, or if the travelers were detained or separated in any way. If Karma’s a thing, they’d be sitting next to each other on their flight.
