A Tampa area man was arrested after local authorities accused him of recording at least two people in an airport bathroom stall of the St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport. When arrested, detectives determined the suspect had around 160 photos of people in the bathroom.
Michel Fernandez Fuentes, a 46-year-old Tampa area man was arrested on charges of video voyeurism after an investigation dating back to June of this year. According to local news station Channel 8 News, Fuentes was using a men’s bathroom when he used his phone to record at least two people in the stall next to his.
One of the victims was an eleven-year-old girl who noticed her image on the screen of Fuentes’s phone.
The other victim was an adult and has no connection to the younger victim. Fuentes was employed by SSP America, a food and beverage company that serves the airport.
Channel 8 News noted that investigators found around 160 total images on Fuentes’s phone including many pictures beyond the two victims that triggered the investigation. The photos often showed the legs of people using the stall next to Fuentes and the total victim count is currently unknown.
For his part, Fuentes denied using the camera in the stall, but admitted accessing the pictures on his phone. Investigators, however, determined that Fuentes in fact did access both the photo gallery and the camera while in the stall.
Fuentes was booked into the Pinellas County Jail.
