Starting September 14, passengers traveling from Kansas City’s International Airport (MCI) will no longer have access to the Economy B parking lot. The lot is being permanently closed for the construction of a new terminal.

The Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is getting a shiny new terminal and to make way for the terminal the Economy B parking lot is being permanently closed.

For passengers flying Allegiant, Delta and Southwest Airlines, Economy C Lot will now be your preferred parking lot instead of Economy B Lot which is permanently closing in the wake of the ongoing construction efforts for the new airport terminal.

The new terminal is part of the largest infrastructure project in Kansas City’s long history and is around 1 million square feet and 39 new gates. Once completed the project will also add more than 6000 new parking spaces as well.

The new terminal will also help modernize the tired and aging airport bringing modern features and amenities to the international airport including inclusive play areas, easier use of ride-share services, larger bathrooms, and many other contemperary travel features.

The project is targeted for completion in 2023.
