In this classic travel freakout, a Portland-bound traveler decides she doesn’t want to sit next to a Trump supporter. The entitlement reigns supreme as she soon gets her wish when she’s removed from the flight.
In today’s Divided States of America (as one pundit put it recently) the tensions run hot for people who find themselves on different polarities. Mix in the stress of air travel and a small aluminum tube and you have the perfect recipe for another entry in the “Certified Karen” annals (at least according to one Reddit post, anyway).
In this classic travel freakout, we find a woman sitting in the middle seat on a Portland-bound flight with her husband. While the husband largely remains stoic throughout the incident (clearly embarrassed) the woman unloads on the man sitting next to her who we find out is a Trump supporter.
She mocks him, calls him names, and derides his views on climate change before ultimately getting her wish not to sit next to the man when she is asked to leave the plane.
Her tone quickly changes to a far more conciliatory tone as she pleads to stay on the plane – even promising to behave. When those attempts fail she tries to use her husband’s dead mother in a final failed attempt to stay on the plane. It doesn’t work.
As police escort her off the plane the passengers break out into a round of applause and a half-hearted “USA” chant.

Would you rather “Russia, Russia, Russia”? Just because you don’t appreciate winning the birth lottery and being an American, it doesn’t mean don’t.
A Comment like this is why our country is going down the proverbial crapper. The woman was out of hand – and that is how many passengers relieved the tension -demonstrating a “united†spirit and not a spirit of division and hatred.
You are free to leave the USA anytime, and good luck Fortunately today, the First Amendment to the US Constitution is still valid. It’s people like you who now make me think twice about being proud to serve ALL Americans.

Why is it that the ‘tolerance and inclusion’ crowd are the most INTOLERANT, OBNOXIOUS people on the planet??

I encounter these people in Washington, DC, San Francisco, Chicago, Seattle…and the list goes on.
Don’t judge the MAJORITY who voted Biden in and Trump out by the actions of one very rude woman. And you are obviously caught up in right wingding conspiracy theories about COVID long after they’ve been disproven again and again, especially the notion Dumbass Donald spouted on a regular basis. Publicly wearing a Trump tee or Trump paraphernalia broadcasts that you stand and support a man and a party that seems to condone white supremacy, antisemitism, misogyny, and anti LBGTQT Americans. I would chose not to sit next to someone who broadcasts that hatred as well.

The man nor the party condones any white supremacy, antisemitism, misogyny, or people with values and lifestyles different than yours. There are numerous examples of our support of rights and lack of hatred–but many liberals disregard facts and see what they want to see.
“It’s a retread”… you know that. You probably also know that calling a woman a “Karen” is sexist and racist. Sexist because women have struggled for the right to speak out. But most people feel pretty comfortable with censoring them. Racist because… It refers to a certain race. How do I know that? We all know that none of you have the cahones to call a black woman that name.
I can sit next to anyone, so long as 4 things are true:
1) They keep their politics to themselves.
2) They keep their religion to themselves
3) They don’t have BO
4) Their pulchritude doesn’t infringe on my space

It is easy to understand why she was irritated. I have had to lose many friends and family due to the hate some feel for others. That’s not a bug. It’s a feature.
Wealthy American oligarchs have spent millions dividing us. No one can put that genie back in the box, unfortunately. They win when our division prevents honest debate about the issues. That’s why I prefer to discuss the issues specifically. That’s when we find little that divides us besides the trumped-up culture wars.
