We are all a little grossed out by this woman’s unusual approach to getting comfortable on her four-hour flight. With shoes off, feet in slings, and a bizarre inflatable travel pillow, this woman’s viral video has evoked some strong emotions from viewers. See for your for yourself.

Listen, we’ve got nothing against getting comfortable on your flight. Flying, especially flying coach, is not the most comfortable experience. And this definitely is true on longer flights where the back can act up, the legs can cramp, and in general, your body starts to protest against that middle seat…lol. But one woman’s attempts to get comfortable on her four-hour flight go to extreme lengths in our opinion and kind of weird us out a little bit.

In a now-viral video that has racked up millions of views and thousands of comments and likes, a woman who goes by the TikTok handle @Wendygonewild dropped some travel truths on us all as she demonstrated how she achieves maximum comfort on a plane.

The video shows “Wendy” sitting in a window seat for a four-hour flight (according to the caption) with her bare feet in some sort of sling that is hanging from the tray table. She also begins to inflate a bizarre travel pillow. Again, we reiterate we have nothing wrong with comfort, but bare feet are always a touchy subject on planes, and the use of the footrest sling-thingie is just weird. I don’t see the value in them unless she just has really short legs, I guess. Plus, because it attaches to the tray table which is attached to the seat in front of you it’s got to (got to, right!?!) irritate the passenger in front of you.

The inflatable travel pillow is weird too because it’s just so large. You can buy this thing on Amazon here (aff link) but why would you? It’s just too big to travel with. Plus you have to inflate it which is just too much. All this for four hours? Maybe, if it is was like an 8-hour flight.

Watch the video for yourself:

The comments and reactions from folks are quite varied, but many share the same opinions we do. Here are a few highlights.

  • “Um no karen put your shoes on this is not your house”
  • “Tell me you don’t fly often without telling me. Bet she takes the skymall magazine”
  • “I would pay extra not to be next to her”
  • “should be a war crime for taking your shoes off on public transport”
  • “Person in front of you probably loves the constant movement on the back of their chair. SMH”

Some were supportive, especially with her nice pedicure (and it is pretty nice):

  • “those pretty feet”
  • “i’m sorry this comment section is so mean! you seem really kind”
  • “This will always be a great idea…a shame these ppl only get to travel on their phones and not in real life, the complaints are giving”

At least her video went viral which may be the big win (for her) here.

How about you? Ok or nah?

So Is wearing sandals on a plane not couth? How is that that different.

This obsession with bare feet is a rather culture-specific.

I don’t like it because if she took off socks and tennis shoes there more than likely an odor from her feet. Not good. It’s a no from me.

I think we have other things to worry about than a foot sling and ostrich pillow. If she’s comfortable and not bothering the person in front of her, who cares? Maybe wear sandals, but seriously, who cares. I’ve had parents on flights that hold their kids so the kids’ feet is touching me and that’s rude-keep your kids to yourselves
