In the red corner, we have Karen, weighing in at an even 135lbs and hailing from Florida. In the blue corner, we have Boomer who hails from Georgia and weighs in at 187lbs. And fight! The winner of this title fight gets to go to jail. Sadly, it was Karen vs. Boomer on a recent Atlanta flight and one of them did go to jail. We have the video.
The in-flight freakout has, unfortunately, become a staple of travel and we have another entrant for the annals of time with this gem. In a pre-Christmas flight from Tampa, destined for Atlanta, two passengers engaged in a bit of a kerfuffle which has now been dubbed the “Karen vs. Boomer” travel freakout.
Several videos captured aboard the flight show an unmasked woman standing in the aisle yelling at a seated man, also not wearing a mask. Why was she yelling? It would seem she was unhappy that he wasn’t wearing his mask. The irony is not lost on this author.
The older fella then proceeded to utter what may be the best in-flight travel freakout line of the pandemic: “Sit down, Karen. You are going to jail!” He wasn’t wrong (more on that in a moment), but for his snide comment, he earned himself a slap or two to the face and a few punches. The woman earned herself an arrest with assault charges upon landing in Atlanta where, according to witnesses, she was met by half a dozen members of the law enforcement community.

According to View from the Wing, the man was originally not involved in the situation and it was the female passenger who was engaged in some sort of disturbance that had nearly been calmed down before the man lobbed a verbal jab her way infuriating her even further and fanning the flames.
