As 2021 winds down we here at the CBoardingGroup are reflecting on the crazy, nutty, wild and amazing year that 2021 has been for our little travel and remote work blog. Here are the Top 10 Posts across our network this year, plus some heartfelt thanks to those who helped us out this year.

In 2020, thanks to the pandemic, working from home (and not traveling…lol) kinda blew up. Fortunately, we were ready for this phenomenon and hit the ground running. Having worked remotely for the better part of 15 years this was an easy pivot for us and we built out some great new content that performed very well. That performance continued in 2021 as remote work has now become the de facto way we are all working. Some of best performing posts continue to be remote work-related and that’s reflected in the list below.

In 2021, we also started a new series of posts focused on unique things to do in a specific city. This emphasis, coupled with some travel to these locations has become one of the more fun things to do on our blog and while it doesn’t blow out any traffic goals, it has been wildly fun to visit a location, write about it, and share it with y’all. It’s also given us an opportunity to expand the CBoardingGroup writing network to a few other great writers too and we are thankful for their contributions (more on that later).

Sadly, in 2021, the “bad news” travel trend continued and some of our most popular posts involved people doing bad things or facing weird or difficult travel situations. Some were kinda funny, many were not. Some involved violence against passengers or flight crews which, sadly, was a major theme in 2021. While that’s been great for the travel blogger industry (traffic seeking folks that we are)…it’s a trend we hope dies down and dies down fast. Enough with the violence against crew and fellow passengers stuff already.

2021 has been a year of fantastic growth in readership, revenue, and content and it’s been a complete hoot on this journey. Without any further ado here are the posts the performed the best in 2021 across our network. Thanks for reading!

Final Thoughts on 2021

What a great year 2021 has been for this travel blog! We are now entering our 41st month of blogging and continue to be amazed at the revenue growth and readership. 2021 was another year or record growth in both areas.

Since joining the BoardingArea network of bloggers our little blog has seen tremendous growth and we are extremely grateful to Randy Peterson (yeah, that Randy!) who took a chance on a fledgling blogger. He remains a kind-hearted, grateful and SUPER enthusiastic leader in this travel universe. His staff is also absolutely wonderful to work with and help support all of the many bloggers in this great network. The support across the BA network is also wonderful and I’ve been fortunate enough to make many great connections with fellow bloggers – all of which are pulling for each other and most importantly love to travel!

We’d be remiss if we didn’t thank two writers who contributed to this blog in 2021 and who delivered wonderful content each time: Kyle Stewart and MR Smith. Thanks to both of them for their help and submissions!

On the revenue side of the house, we are deeply grateful to our major affiliate programs including Amazon and MagicLinks both of which are key parts of this blog’s monetization strategy and (for the most part) are great partners to work with. If you want to sign up as an affiliate with them here’s how:

Here’s wishing all of you a great 2021. Thank you to our readers, advertisers, affiliate partners, brands, writers, support staff and everyone else involved in way shape or form. Happy New Year!

PS…wait until you see what we have planned for 2022. Two projects we are super excited about...
