The right mix of affordability and quality can be tough to find with headphones which can wildly range in cost and quality. The FX-Viktaria Wireless Bluetooth Headphones, however, headphones are a possible candidate and may present a decent mix of these two attributes. Here is my product review for the FX-Viktaria Headphones.
FX-Viktaria Review – are these affordable wireless bluetooth headphones “good enough?”
Any regular traveler should have a set of headphones in their travel kit. In my experience there is really three ways to go here:
- Cheap & Disposable
- High End
- Somewhere in between
For years I used the cheap and disposable approach, buying inexpensive wired headphones (usually earbuds like these cheap, but popular ones on Amazon). My reasoning for going the cheap route was simple…I couldn’t afford to spend 300.00 on headphones and two, with the rigors of frequent travel the cheaper route would mean less cause for concern when/if they got managed.
I did sort of step it up a little bit with these slightly higher end SkullCandy Hesh 2 headphones, which were pretty good actually, if not a bit bulky (and harder to travel with – the ultimately broke after dropping a bag on ’em).
I was desperate for a pair of wireless over the ear or at least on the ear headphones and was not going to drop the kinda coin necessary to get some higher end Beats or Bose headphones.
I decided to revert back to my cheapskate-ish / middle of the road approach, and settled on an affordable pair of FX-Viktaria Headphones.

What I liked
Like all products there is good and bad. Here’s the good:
Good:
- Price: Can’t beat < $30.00 00 for over the ear headphones!
- Sound Quality: Pretty good actually (even through Bluetooth). Very clear sound overall, and while not nearly as good as some Beats, it was good enough.
- Comfort: I wear glasses so ANY over the ear headphone typically causes me discomfort – especially over time. That said, these were just fine and fairly comfortable really.
- They include a backup wire which is handy if you run out of batteries mid-flight (which I did!). Switched over the cord – bam, continued watching moving.
- Folding Mechanism is Smooth. They fold up pretty easy and fit into the backpack nice enough.
- Adjustability. They are adjustable for different head sizes and this feature worked great (I have a smaller head)
What I didn’t like
- Battery life: IMO it’s a low. I’ve now run out of battery twice on longer flights and while they claim 10 hours, it didn’t feel like I got 10 hours out of it. With proper planning, and the backup cord, and maybe a portable charger, you are probably ok for longer flights. No issues with shorter flights.
- No Bag/Case: While they do fold up nicely, no case or bag was included. I’d have liked to have one to protect them a bit better while in my Ogio Backpack and I’d rather not have to find one and hope it fits.
- Controls: There are some volume, play/answer phone controls on the headphones themselves. I did accidentally pause my show while adjusting the headphones on my ears. Not a huge deal, but they are in spot where it seemed natural to grab w/ your hand.
- USB Charging Jack is in an odd place. The Micro USB receptacle was located under the headphone arm (the thing that goes over your head…) and it makes it a little trickier than it ought to be to get to the cable in. A better location would have been on the bottom of the headphone.
Overall Opinion on the FX-Viktaria Headphones
Listen, for less than $30.00 you have to be realistic. These are not the highest end headphones you are going to own, but they do a pretty good job. You can get them in a couple of colors and if price is a concern and you still need some quality, you can’t go wrong.
They might even be the perfect accessory for your kids on your next family vacation. Instead of spending a thousand bucks outfitting your herd with headphones, spend 120 bucks or so. Not bad. And when (it’s not a matter of if with kids) they break them you won’t feel so bad.
